International Student of DMU Law School Publishes Signed Article with Firm Belief in Chinese Government to Control Novel Coronavirus
On February 3, Mr. M Jahanzeb Butt, a doctoral student from Pakistan studying at the Law School of Dalian Maritime University, published an article titled "Responsibility Under Crisis" on Daily Times, a well-known English newspaper in Pakistan, calling on all Pakistani students studying in China to remain calm in the face of the Coronavirus, and believe in the governance capacity and response measures of the Chinese government and that the Chinese government will pay attention to the health of all international students studying in China as it values its own citizens.
In his article, Mr. Butt talks about everyone's responsibility in the event of a crisis. It would be irresponsible to flee the affected area and spread unverified information on social media, causing more misunderstanding and unnecessary panic. Based on what he saw and heard in Dalian, Mr. Butt provided the Pakistani public with the latest data on the development of the Coronavirus, which is helpful to dispel misunderstandings and relieve the panic of the people abroad about the current situation in China. It is reported that the Pakistani government just resumed flights to and from China. Pakistan had previously suspended flights between the two countries due to the outbreak of Coronavirus.
The Law School of Dalian Maritime University currently has nearly 50 registered international students. With the strong support of the International Student Education Center of DMU, the Law School has made many reasonable arrangements for the smooth integration of international students into the study and life at DMU. In the face of the Coronavirus, teachers and students of the DMU Law School will be working together with all international students to overcome the difficulties. We all believe that winter will eventually pass and spring is bound to come.
